IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
Re: Heed the RJA movement call about the final journey for change and justice in Jubaland
Dear Colleagues,
The RJA Movement’s motto has had always been “CHANGE THE GRASSROOTS ATTITUDE FIRST, THEN ACT IN CONCERT WITH TO DESIRED CHANGE DESTINATION”.
We the RJA movement team and all other Jubaland change and justice reform teams agreed to act united as a single team in order to achieve the desired goal of free and fair election in Jubaland, nothing less, nothing more. Together with the diverse grassroots communities, their leaders and many other concerned partners our actions have made a remarkable difference in Jubaland. Yet the irony of the fact that the brutal divisive clandestine system which we all believe to be unfit for purpose need to be removed from the scene once and for all indeed. There’s no time limit for our journey until we achieve the change that Jubaland people are needed.
While having this ultimate goal of our mission in mind the journey should be as enjoyable as the end destination itself. Those who find themselves difficult to keep on track and take the final steps toward the end destination in one way or another at this pivotal moment, our message is this, please feel free and just stop whenever you want and stay the same, but don’t forget to move your clock forward.
Although there are no written written agreement between the different groups and their aspirant political team leaders or specific guidance-rules of this journey, again we enjoy an excellent unity, understanding and good work relation under ONE umbrella called “ISBEDELDOON”up and until the present day. Because of that, we have been able to galvanised our diverse grassroots community leaders, civil society groups, women and youth groups into a successful collective action-socially and politically together.
We the RJA movement committed to finish the journey we started several years back and we profoundly believe that we can not afford to back down because, the time for change is now. Regardless of all possible challenges ahead and we firmly believe that anything is possible. Nevertheless, we want to change with the times and make the necessary change at the right time. In fact we all realise that it’s our advantage to exercise prudence, patience and insure cooperation and not confrontation in such important final stage of democratic reforms. Yes we can make the best of it not the worst.
The change will not come if we sit and wait an outside intervention or relay other people, doing so the change we wait will never come and Indeed we would pay a hefty price at the end. We the Jubaland people are the ones who initiate this journey and sacrificed the change that we seek. We pray for all those who killed, injured or suffered in one way or another during this difficult journey. Above all we the RJA has had always good faith to work with you as long as we believe the cause is right, there is no room for fear.
No matter what physical, mental or financial constraints or other pressure we find ourselves under, combining our strengths with other fellow ISBEDELDOON groups willing to implement the change we intend will more than compensate for any constraints we have. We all know that unity is strength so, let us stick together and move forward.
Finally, I would like to welcome on behalf of the RJA members and myself the home coming leader HE. Abdinasir Seraar, who is back to KISMAYO today from his short work trip in Nairobi, Kenya. We also like to compliment all the reformist movements and their team leaders for their bravery and diligent work in the hostile environment and with difficult circumstances.
We hope to make the change that Jubaland people deserve. We can assure you will see things changed in Jubaland very soon. So, the future of Jubaland will look bright and prosperous once again.
